Let Me Call You Sister

Friday, August 10th, 2012

Funny thing happened last night as I was finishing up my dinner. Xy was fiddling with something in the back yard, Persephone was having an ice pop on the deck, and I was alone at the dinner table with a second plate of tacos and my second glass of Malbec and I was overwhelmed by [...]

Mystery Fence

I can’t figure out the purpose of this fence. It is bolted in place, by the way.

Anonymous

Tuesday, July 7th, 2009

This morning I was surprised to find an envelope stuck in our front door with my name on it. Inside, a card with the following note: Bart, I heard about the theft of your bike. Hope this helps. You should know that the people who suck are few but the good and kind (like you) [...]

A Haphazard List of Possible Future Topics for Pleasure

Thursday, April 16th, 2009

This is the third installment of three sample documents dredged up from my old Brother WP-500 disks. I really have no idea what this is. Perhaps it had something to do with the Have Fun Club? Spotted this thing behind the hotel where we stayed in Thomasville, Alabama. I have no idea what it is, but I’m sure some astute person out there can enlighten me. (More detail in the larger version.)

Stinkhorn

I’m not sure what the game is, exactly, but I noticed this blog links to an old post of mine; it looks human at first but a quick scan thru the site confirms it’s being compiled by robots.

Blood in Her Urine

Monday, October 17th, 2005

Xy’s been feeling poorly ever since I left Bloomington. She went to Promptcare and they found blood in her urine. Perhaps a urinary tract infection? But the test came back negative, so they had her come back in and pee in the cup again. Still tests positive for blood. So now she’s got to see [...]

Defend New Orleans?

Friday, February 25th, 2005

Elliott (a prof here at the university) asked me if I know of a group called “Defend New Orleans.” Actually he wasn’t sure if they’re a group or just a slogan. Someone handed him some stickers on Mardi Gras, because he moved some pylons onto Frenchmen to stop cars from coming through the block party. [...]
