Junior Portrait

Greenwood, Indiana, 1983 or ’84: I took my glasses off for this high school yearbook photo. Note the acne. Note the haircut. Note the enigmatic expression. I’m not smiling — not quite.

Junior Portrait

It’s hard not to smile when you’re having such a photo taken. I imagine I was pretty pleased with myself for resisting the photographer’s instructions.

I was 16 or 17 years of age.

Looks somewhat similar to my pictures from that age, it kind of makes me feel better, I don’t know about you, but I hated pictures of myself during that phase.

lotta wolfsbane in the water up in Greenwood, looks like. Did you know Kirk and Quentin, or am I conflating north-central towns?

  3. mike Says:

Greencastle may be the conflation culprit.

Were you on something at the time? Seriously, your pupils look enormous.

  5. Andrea Says:

    That is really excellent.

This is precisely how I remember you from IU. Those green laser eyes piercing right through your glasses and lighting the way to knowledge for all the rest of us schmucks. Just kidding. Cool picture. You should frame it. ;-D Hope you and the fam are well.

Wow, palito, you look a little like Bowie from his Ziggy incarnation, and you do appear to be BUZZING on something!

Well, the acne isn’t too bad. The background of the pic is quite unfortunate, but what is to be expected from high school portraits?
