[...] The guy in question is John McCusker, a photographer for the Times-Picayune. I met him back in early April when the paper ran their first installment on our renovation. He took my picture in our flooded basement. I remember we talked about the Times-Picayune and how many people’s respect for the paper had increased after Katrina. We talked about photography and I recommended checking out Flickr. We also talked about his hassles in dealing with FEMA and insurance. [...]

[...] I was contacted last week by an Australian television production company. They were looking for a termite-damaged house and they’d read about us in the Times-Picayune. They were interested in shooting a segment about us for a special on real estate disasters which they’re producing for The Learning Channel. [...]

Yeah, Liza, actually I was a little taken aback when I saw our address in the advance draft the writer shared with me... But I guess I wasn't too concerned because I didn't say anything about it.

We've had one neighbor stop by and visit after reading the article, an 82-year-old lady from the other side of Canal Street. She's having to live in Metairie while she waits and waits on fixing up her house.

I also got a call from a TV producer who wants to do a segment. We'll see if anything comes of that.

Cool about the story, but doesn't it make you nervous to have your actual street address in the article? I'm paranoid about stuff like that.

42.94, eh? Glad to know they can get down to that level of accuracy. I've got a picture of the Damage Wizard counting every last rusted nail...

Great story! Yes, I think Celbrity B sounds much better than your stage name Stupid B. Of course, you can only use it for 15 minutes.

You guys just can't get away from the press can you? It amazes me how no matter where you go, the press wants to speak with you, or do a story about you. Hopefully everything will get back to the way it was. Just like anything, it just takes time.

It was great piece and for me it was right out of the it's a small world book; only without the annoying music. Stephanie is a good friend of mine as well as an ally when I wear my neighborhood association hat.
