Newdow’s Back!
January 5th, 2005 by Editor BDr. Michael Newdow is back with a vengeance. He’s just filed another suit against the “under God” phrase in the Pledge of Allegiance — this time with eight other plaintiffs. Strangely enough, the New York Times article about this doesn’t make mention of the fact that he’s also filed suit against the saying of a prayer at Bush’s inauguration.

Newdow might win the first suit, but the second one’s really goofy. It’s Bush’s inauguration-he can do what he wants. He will anyway. There are a few of us Old Time Baptists that are rooting for Newdow on the first one. “Under God” wasn’t in the original pledge that was written by a Baptist. Any Baptist who knows his or her history and important heritage should be hoping that an important religious principle held by “real Baptists” is upheld.
